Professional Will Writing Services
A properly drafted will is the foundation of any sound estate plan. Without one, the law decides who inherits your assets — often in ways you’d never intend. We help you create a legally robust will that protects your family, reflects your wishes, and provides complete peace of mind.
Why You Need a Will
Writing a will isn’t just about distributing assets — it’s about taking control of your legacy and protecting the people you care about most. Whether you’re securing your children’s future, providing for an unmarried partner, or simply ensuring your wishes are respected, a valid will gives you that control.
Without a will, you risk:
- Your spouse or partner not inheriting what you intended
- Unmarried partners receiving nothing
- The wrong people gaining control of your estate
- Lengthy legal delays and unnecessary costs for your loved ones
What Should Be in Your Will?
Every will is unique, but most include:
Executors. Trusted individuals who’ll manage your estate and ensure your wishes are carried out properly.
Guardians. If you have children under 18, you can choose who will care for them should the worst happen.
Beneficiaries. Specify exactly who inherits your property, savings, possessions, and sentimental items.
Funeral wishes. Make your preferences clear so your family knows what you would have wanted.
We’ll guide you through every decision, ensuring nothing important is overlooked.
How a Will Works Alongside Trusts and LPAs
A will is the foundation, but it rarely stands alone. If you own your home with someone else, a Property Protection Trust can ring-fence your share for your children — and if you own it as joint tenants, a severance of tenancy is usually needed first, so that your share passes under your will at all. Where beneficiaries are young or vulnerable, a discretionary trust lets your trustees decide how and when they inherit. And because a will only takes effect after death, most clients also put a Lasting Power of Attorney in place to cover decisions made during their lifetime. And if you would rather put arrangements in place while you are alive, rather than leaving everything to take effect through your will, a living trust is worth discussing too.
